Year-Round Protection From Spiders Is A Call Away!
February 17, 2016
Spiders are a species of pest that are very commonly found living in homes- in basements, closets, attics, crawl spaces, the corners of rooms, and even underneath furniture. Typically they live outdoors, however spiders will move into a home either accidentally while searching for prey or very deliberately while looking for a warm safe place to overwinter in. Whatever the reason, most people can agree, they need to get out of your house and stay out for good!
Spiders outside are beneficial, keeping populations of nuisance insects in check; but spiders inside are a nuisance, unwanted, can be a threat to you and your your family, and should be eliminated as quickly as possible. Most spider species build webs in order to rest and to catch prey. They will build and abandon webs quickly and cause you to be constantly dusting and removing webs from the corners of your home- like you don’t have enough to do already!
Other species, like the wolf spider (a very common spider in our area), don’t actually build webs; instead, they hunt and chase their prey down. Who would want to witness that in their home? A large hairy spider running out of a dark corner - that is the stuff nightmares are made of!
Another reason to quickly get rid of spiders in your home is because spiders bite; and while it is rare to be bitten by a poisonous spider, it can happen and medical attention may be required. Spiders are shy and elusive by nature, meaning they are not seeking you out to bite you, but will bite in defense. Spider bites commonly happen when people are putting on a piece of clothing or shoes that have a spider hiding out in them or while grabbing a box or other item located in a quiet storage area. Even if a spider bite is not from a poisonous species, when you scratch or pick at the bite, it can lead to a secondary infection that requires a doctor's visit.
Luckily, though, spider bites are rare and most don’t cause any harm or leave any lasting effects, but still, who wants to be bitten by a spider no matter how harmless it may be, or have to shake out their shoes and clothing before putting them on, or have to constantly clean up spider webs? We are pretty sure the answer is nobody!
