Get Rid Of Roaches In Your Pennsylvania Home
March 14, 2016
If you have ever had the pleasure of shuffling out to your kitchen at 2 in the morning, flicking on the light, and seeing several cockroaches scatter into holes in your walls, then you understand the horror these creepy critters can evoke. Just one cockroach silently scaling a wall to vanish inside an air conditioner can make even the most stoic, normally level-headed, sane person lose their mind in grossed-out convulsions.
Cockroaches are gross. Period. But that is not all. They can also cause health problems. Not only do these bugs leave their feces everywhere, they regurgitate on their food (your food that has been left out) in order to digest it. They can cause illnesses including; urinary tract infections, digestive problems, sepsis, and are also known to cause allergies and/or asthmatic reactions in some people.
But before you get too concerned, take heart. There are things that can be done to keep these nasty pests out, or get them out once they have invaded.
Keep Cockroaches OUT of Your Home
Clean, clean, clean. Thoroughly vacuum all areas of your home, concentrating specifically on areas where food particles may be present. Don't forget the crumbs in the toaster, the gunk between the stove and counter, or the spills underneath the fridge.
Repair any leaky pipes, sinks, tubs, and toilets.
Store all food in tightly sealed containers, or in the refrigerator.
Eliminate clutter, especially in closets and on shelves.
Do not use cardboard boxes to store things.
Trim back all vegetation from the outside of your home.
Remove all standing water from around your house and in your yard.
Store firewood well away from your house and up off the ground.
Inspect the outside of your foundation, walls and roof area and seal up any gaps or cracks.
Make sure all of your screens and door sweeps are in good working order.
